Does God Still Perform Miracles?

Does God Still Perform Miracles?

Oct 26, 2022

Many people wonder if God still performs miracles in today's world. They question if He still heals and cares for His people. The answer is a resounding YES! God's ability to perform miracles and bring healing has not diminished over time. It is a fundamental part of His character and work.

Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of miracles brought about by faith, including miraculous healings. Today, we will discover the unwavering power of God to heal.

God's Promises of Healing

One of the foundations for believing in God's ability to heal is His promises in Scripture. In Exodus 23:25, God commands His people to worship Him, and in return, He promises to bless their food and water and take away sickness from among them. This verse demonstrates God's desire for his people's well-being and His willingness to heal them.

In Jeremiah 30:17, the Lord declares, "I will restore you to health and heal your wounds." This promise reassures us that God wants to bring healing and restoration to His people. It shows His compassion and His ability to turn our pain into wholeness.

Jesus, the Healer

When we look at the life of Jesus, we see a profound example of healing. In Matthew 15:30, it is written that great crowds came to Jesus, bringing with them the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others, and He healed them all.

Jesus' healing ministry was not limited to a specific time or place; it extends to today. The same Jesus who healed thousands of years ago still has the power to heal today. His compassion and love for His people remain unchanged.

Isaiah 53:4-5 provides a powerful message about the healing brought about by Jesus' sacrifice. It says, "Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering... by his wounds, we are healed." Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection have paved the way for our healing. Through His sacrifice, we can find healing for our bodies, minds, and hearts.

The Importance of Faith

Throughout Scripture, faith is highlighted as a crucial element in receiving healing from God. In Mark 11:22-24, Jesus says, "Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

God wants His people to have faith in Him and to ask for healing. He assures us that all things are possible for those who believe. It is essential to remember that healing is ultimately in God's hands, and His timing and plan are perfect. Even if healing does not come immediately, we can trust in His faithfulness and continue to have faith in His healing power.

Seeking God's Healing

When we are facing health challenges, it is crucial to turn to God and seek His healing. Jeremiah 33:6 tells us, "Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and let them enjoy abundant peace and security." This verse reminds us that God is the source of true healing and peace.

In our prayers, we can come before God as our healer, acknowledging His sovereignty and power. We can submit our requests to Him, knowing that He knows what is best for us. Whether we receive physical healing or not, we can trust in His plan and have faith that He will provide us with the grace to endure and wait faithfully.

Conclusion and Application

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His ability to perform miracles and bring healing has not changed. God knows everything about your body because he made us. He knows even the number of hair we have. Today, he heals in the same way He healed thousands of years ago.

He is a loving and compassionate God who desires to bring healing and restoration to His people. We can have faith in His promises and seek His healing with confidence.

Let us remember that even if our healing does not come within our desired timeframe, we can trust in God's timing and plan. We can find comfort in knowing that He will never leave us and that His love for us is unchanging. In times of pain and suffering, we can turn to Him and find strength, peace, and hope.

May we seek God's healing in all aspects of our lives, knowing that He is the ultimate source of wholeness. Let us trust in His divine plan and surrender ourselves to His loving care.

Whether we receive physical healing or not, we can remain confident that God is always with us, leading us, and providing us with abundant peace and security.

Prayer for Healing and Recovery

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You for being our healer. God, we come seeking a special touch

from Your Almighty powerful hand.

Lord, we welcome You to do whatever your will is for us. Have Your way in our lives at this very moment. Father, You are the king of kings and You are the lord of lords.

There is none like You, there is no other healer, there is no better doctor, there is no other competent physician than You Lord.

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) says

“but he was pierced for our transgressions,

he was crushed for our iniquities;

The punishment that brought us peace was on him,

and by his wounds we are healed.”

So today Lord Jesus, we declare that by Your stripes we are healed, not because we say so but because Your Word says so.

We claim what is written in Your Word. We claim in faith healing to take place in our bodies, in our hearts, in our minds.

You know what is best for us Father, and we know that you will never give us something that we cannot handle or something that we cannot overcome.

You are in control. Your will is all that matters, because Your plan for us is perfect.

We praise You. We give You thanks. We worship You. We honor You.

If it is Your will that we might not be healed yet, then Lord we submit.

We accept that You will give us the grace to not only endure, but to wait on You faithfully and patiently.

Lord, as long as You are with us, as long as You are leading us, as long as You are our shepherd and God, we can always have hope.

We may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil

because Your rod and Your staff will comfort us. Father, we ask for Your grace and for Your special touch of healing.

We pray that we would not be discouraged or afraid even if our healing does not come within our time. We will choose to trust Your timing above our own. We choose to have faith in Your divine plan because our lives are in Your loving hands.

Our future and our health are in your hands. Regardless what any earthly doctor may say, we will remain confident and faithful that we are safe and always taken care of by You, Lord.

Father, help us to keep our attention on You.

When we hurt and are in pain, sustain us, oh Lord.

We are blessed to be under Your care, the Great Healer, the Chief Physician.

We will not only seek healing, but instead, we will seek You.

We will not seek miracles, but instead, we will seek the One who perform miracles.

And because You paid the ultimate price on the cross, we know that we can count on You to be there in our lives, even in times when it does not feel like You are there. We know that You will never leave us nor forsake us.

Because Your Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever, we know that we can always count on You. We can depend on Your nature to never change. We can always depend on Your love and care to see us through and to strengthen our faith.

We depend on You in all things at all times and in all ways. Though the world changes, though circumstances change, though people change, we are confident that You Lord Jesus, will never change.

You are an unchanging God. You are a healer many years ago. You are our healer still today. You are a miracle worker many years ago. You are our miracle worker today.

Please touch me and cure me today, and fortify my mind, my heart, and my body.

I pray that the Holy Spirit would lead me in comfort and peace today.

Lord, we know that we can always count on You.

Thank You for hearing this prayer.

We receive healing in Your presence. We receive restoration in Your presence.

We believe we can be made whole again in Your presence

We bless Your Holy Name Lord.

I pray that the Holy Spirit would lead us in comfort and peace today.

We pray this and count it all done.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
